La galerie L. Parker Stephenson Photographs représente désormais Jane Evelyn Atwood à New York et ouvrira la saison avec “Paris Red Light 1976-1979”, une exposition de tirages vintages de ses  deux premières séries, “Rue des Lombards” (1976-1977) et “Pigalle People (1978-1979), série que nous avons publiée dans un livre au titre éponyme. Acclamée dans son pays d’adoption, la France (avec pas moins de cinq expositions différentes cette année), les photographies de Jane Evelyn Atwood ont rarement été vues aux États-Unis bien qu’elle ait été la première récipiendaire de la bourse W. Eugene Smith Fund, en 1980. Il s’agira de la première exposition personnelle de ses tirages en noir et blanc aux États-Unis depuis 2005 et l’occasion de découvrir en profondeur les premières œuvres de cette célèbre documentariste.

 L. Parker Stephenson Photographs is pleased to announce its representation of American-born Paris-based photographer Jane Evelyn Atwood (b. 1947) and will open the season with Paris Red Light 1976-1979, an exhibition of mostly vintage work from her first two series; Rue des Lombards (1976-1977) and Pigalle People (1978-1979). Acclaimed in her adopted country (with five different exhibitions this year alone), Atwood’s photographs have seldom been seen in the United States despite her being the first recipient of the W. Eugene Smith Fund Grant in 1980. This will be the first solo exhibition of her black-and-white prints in the US since 2005 and will offer the opportunity to view the early work of this celebrated documentarian in depth.
